Grown for their showy, sometimes fragrant flowers that present a wide range of vibrant colors. Each bloom lasts only one day (hence the common name), but are borne in great numbers to flower from early summer to fall. Foliage is tall and grasslike, with strong flower stems. Flowers range in size from 3 inches to 6 inches in diameter. Grow in the border, among shrubs or naturalize in grassy woodland areas. Plants are very long lived.
Care and Maintenance:
Flowers turn their faces toward the sun, so position carefully. Prefer sun, but will grow well and display brighter colors in part shade.
