General Description:
Long bloom period from summer to late fall. Maroon scabious like flowers on erect branched stems. Grows naturally in meadows and open woodlands.

Care and Maintenance:
Frost hardy plants preferring sun or part shade. Likes limy soil in the natural habitat but will gwo well in any well drained loam. May require staking. Although references often show this plant as a zone 6, there are many reports of it being one of the hardiest perennials in Canadian gardens.
