General Description:
The large leaves are the main attraction of this specimen plant, although it does grow an astilbe-like flower (up to 3 ft tal) in mid summer. The leaves can grow from 12 to 24 inches large. The word tabularis means table like, which aptly describes the leaves of this plant. This plant does not like to dry out, so plant in a shady location with lots of moisture.
