Astilbe arendsii Cattleya

General Description:
Garden Astilbe are a popular choice for shady gardens, where they perform well if given a rich, moist soil and regular watering. This selection features feathery, white to rose-pink plumes of flowers, over a mound of elegant, lacy green leaves. Also thrives in tubs, or mixed containers. Excellent for cutting. Seed heads may be removed, or left on the plant for winter interest.

Care and Maintenance:
Prefers a lightly shaded area with rich, leafy soil that never dries out. In hot summers need constant watering to keep roots cool and plumes from burning. Plants should be divided every 2 to 3 years, in early spring. No special care. No winter mulching required. Fertilize in April and June.
