Reddish stems and bronze green leaves (arranged in threes) with open panicles of white starry flowers throught out the summer. Clump forming, native plant. After flowering the sepals turn red and enlarge. Easy to grow in a shady area. Flowers are so profuse that from a distance it appears like 'clouds of butterflies'.

Easy to grow in moist shady area. Very frost hardy, prefers humus rich, well drained soil.
