Otherwise known as Meadow Sweet or Queen of the Meadow. Mostly large upright plants for moist to wet soils. Showy clusters of flowers. Foliage is jagged and bold.
-The Kahome is a dwarf variety producing 12 inch sprays of pink feathery plumes in the summer. Grown for it's deeply cut, fernlike foliage and showy heads of tiny flowers.
-rubra Venusta (Venusta Magnifica) 36-40" is a bold accent plant and is North American native with a stature of 4-7 feet. One of the showiest perennials for moist sites.
-purp. Elegans -3-4', Eye catching species. Branching red stems hold sprays of delicate rich pink, fragrant flowers.
Care and Maintenance:
Requires moist soils throughout the season, although the Kahome variety is more drought tolerant than others. Fully frost hardy.
