General Description:
Showy perennial, great late summer mid-border perennial or in woodland setting. Flowers at a time when others are beginning to fade. Flowers born on strong, single stalks. Name comes from the Greek work meaning turtle adn refers to the hooded, gaping flowers, which are borne in short spikes. Leaves are toothed and shiny.

Care and Maintenance:
Easy care. Do not require staking but require regular moisture to reach their potential. Best along streams or pond edges, but will adapt to a moist border planting with rich soil in full sun or part shade.
