Early spring flowering with rosy-pink flowers above glossy, broad, rounded leaves. Foliage turns red-purple in the fall. Will often reflower later in the season. Works well in clumps and borders. Long-lived and never needs staking. Tolerant of exposed sites and moist ground beside streams or ponds, but leaves color most strongly when plants are grown under drier conditions.
Cordifolia -fragrant bright pink blooms, large green foliage
Winterglut -thick clusters of red blooms, dark green foliage
Care and Maintenance:
Tolerant of a wide range of soils. Prefer partial shade but if the soil is moist will thrive in sun. Water well in hot weather and remove spent flowers to prolong flowering.
